OUR Mission
The Heroes Project exists to show our nation’s injured veterans that the impossible is absolutely within reach. We push them to their limits, stand with them through every challenge, and help them reclaim the purpose, achievement, and belonging that may have faded after injury or transition. For those who have endured life‑altering injuries, the world can feel smaller, heavier, and more restrictive. THP refuses to let that be the end of their story. With the right mindset, training, and support, veterans can break past perceived limits and rise to heights they never thought possible. In a safe, structured, and fiercely supportive environment, we encourage them to climb higher physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The Heroes Project is dedicated to helping veterans rebuild confidence, self‑worth, and identity, reconnecting them with the Marine, the Soldier, the warrior within who was never lost, only waiting to rise again. Through the transformative power of nature and community, we help injured veterans reclaim their strength and write the next chapter of their lives with purpose.
We believe that with the right mindset, the right training, and a supportive environment alongside people who understand, anyone can push past their perceived limits. The mountain is real. The challenge is real. What you find on the other side is yours to keep a fresh sense of purpose, achievement, and belonging that travels home.

the challenge
Nature does what hospitals can't. From Everest to Denali to the peaks of California, our heroes push past their limits and discover that the strength they earned in service never left them.
Our Expedition Program challenges the severely wounded to redefine their personal limits post-injury. Whether it's climbing a mountain or finding the courage to take the first step toward a new goal, we're there for every step. The Heroes Project is dedicated to helping veterans regain confidence and self-worth, reconnecting with the warrior already inside, through the power of nature.

What We Do
We take military heroes on therapeutic, challenging, transformative expeditions. Each new participant is paired with a mountain chosen to test them physically and mentally.
The summit is only part of it. The mental preparation matters just as much. We have put injured veterans on the highest summits in the world.
From hospital bed to summit, we support heroes every step. That means Team THP's commitment, training at Equinox, gear from Eddie Bauer, daily training, weekend trips at altitude, healthy living, and real time in the outdoors.
Climbing a mountain, literal and figurative, takes preparation, determination, and a healthy mindset.
Each year, we hold the Climb for Heroes event on Veterans Day Weekend at Mt. Baldy, California, where supporters shake hands with the veterans and thank them for their service.
The Heroes Project runs on donations, gear sales, and participant fundraising.
